The installation procedure involves the complete removal of all existing fascia, soffit, guttering and down pipes etc. with all of the above being removed in a controlled and safe manner.
It is then necessary to cut off all damaged felt at the gutter line giving a neat, straight edge. We then replace the old roofing felt edge with a new 230mm or 300mm rot proof PVC eaves guard liner. The liner will be fitted under the existing felt and bonded to the top of the fascia. By doing this we eliminate streaking and water penetration to the front and rear of the new fascias, this also stops water getting in to the timbers behind the fascias, therefore eradicating the possibility of future damp rot getting into the roof timbers.
We inspect all rafter/joist ends and remove any rotten timbers found. All rafter/joist ends will be sealed with a rot proof – bug proof preservative. New tanalised timber noggins will be supplied where necessary.
All fascias and soffit joints are fitted to the correct 5mm-10mm expansion / contraction tolerances and jointed using PVCu butt joints, corner joints or H section, sealed with a 2 part low modulus silicone.
All rainwater products are joint sealed using Neoprene Gaskets. All gutter seals are sprayed with a silicone lubricant at installation, insuring a permanent watertight interface during any thermal expansion / contraction on long runs. All gutters are fitted using a string line insuring straight runs and the correct fall.
